I'd be delighted to visit book groups, book festivals etc. to talk about, and/or sit in on discussions based around The Queen's Sorrow or my previous Tudor titles.
If you have a look at the 'Behind the Scenes' pages on this site, or listen to the radio interviews, you'll get an idea of what tends to come up.
But for example...
Why the modern language?
Why the Tudors (why are we in thrall to them)?
Is it easier or harder to write about someone who did actually once exist? and what responsibility - if any - do I feel towards them, to telling the truth about them?
In general, how much fiction do I mix with the facts, and do I ever feel uneasy about that?
More specifically: why did Henry VIII have Anne Boleyn executed? She was no threat, she had no supporters, so why didn't he just send her into exile or to a nunnery?
And why on earth did sensible Katherine Parr fall for Thomas Seymour? Did he really seduce Elizabeth?
I've talked about the Tudors – about fictionalising the Tudors – on Radio Four (Open Book), at Brighton and York libraries, at Nottingham Central Library and at the Stratford-Upon-Avon literary festival. And I've sat in on (and contributed to!) a discussion of The Queen of Subtleties at Robertsbridge Readers' Group.
